About

Bhaumik Mistry
Sr. Software Engineer, Amazon
Why this exists
I talk to AI all day. I prompt, I iterate, I get answers optimized for the most likely response. It's useful. But it's not the same as hearing someone say "I tried that, it broke, and here's what I learned."
This project is the opposite of inference. Real conversations with real people about their careers, the decisions they made, the tradeoffs they lived with, and the things they figured out the hard way. No model generated these answers. Someone lived them first.
Who am I
I'm Bhaumik Mistry, a Sr. Software Engineer at Amazon. I build things, I talk to interesting people, and I believe the best lessons come from humans who've been through it, not from systems trained on what humans wrote about going through it.
This is a side project. I talk to people I admire, colleagues, builders, creators, and publish the conversations here. No editing for polish, no cleaning up the rough edges. Just the real thing.

Feedback
What would make this project better? Are there different questions I should be asking? Or would you prefer a different conversation medium, like audio or video?
I'm all ears. Let me know what you think of this project, constructive or otherwise. Leave your email in case I need to follow up.
Gratitude
My deepest thanks to the following people for graciously giving me feedback and support while working on this project.
Inspiration
Special thanks to Brian Lovin and his project staff.design, and to his own inspiration Will Larson, for StaffEng. This project exists because theirs did first.
